TrueTag vs Dyrect: Which Shopify Warranty App Fits Your Brand?
If you're comparing TrueTag and Dyrect, you're probably a Shopify brand that ships physical products with warranties — and possibly one with a counterfeit or gray-market problem. The two apps overlap on warranty registration, but they're built for different jobs, and picking the wrong one means paying for workflows you won't use.

Dyrect ("Warranty Registration & Claims") is warranty-operations software: registrations in, claims, repairs, and replacements out. TrueTag is product-authenticationsoftware that carries the warranty with it: every unit gets its own QR at fulfillment, and a buyer's scan answers "is this genuine, and what's my coverage?"

Choose Dyrect if…
- Claims processing is the pain.If your support inbox is full of warranty claims and you need structured intake, approval workflows, repairs, and replacements — that's Dyrect's core, and TrueTag simply doesn't do it. TrueTag shows a buyer their coverage; the claim itself still lands in your normal support flow.
- You run warranty marketing through Klaviyo and want registrations feeding those flows directly.
- A year of track record matters to you. Dyrect has been in the store since May 2025 with a 5.0 rating; TrueTag is newer.
Choose TrueTag if…
- Counterfeits or gray-market resale are the threat. Per-unit codes, a public verify page, and a suspicious-scan log exist precisely for this. A registration portal can't tell a buyer whether the unit in their hands is real.
- You want serials without changing how you ship. TrueTag assigns a unique QR to every unit the moment Shopify marks the order fulfilled. There's no per-order step to remember, and bulk label PDFs cover stock already on the shelf.
- You want the warranty to be buyer-visible, not back-office. The same scan that proves authenticity shows the coverage window — which quietly markets the warranty on every check.

Can you run both?
Technically yes — they don't conflict, and a brand with both a heavy claims operation anda counterfeiting problem might genuinely want Dyrect for the back office and TrueTag on the product itself.
